Dr. Pinakin Jethwa, MD, FAANS
Even though he has successfully performed thousands of surgeries in the past, Dr. Jethwa knows how important it is to stay up to date on the latest technologies and on individualizing each patient’s treatment plan.
No two patients are ever identical and I believe that what I offer my patients needs to account for those differences. I spend a lot of time getting to know my patients and their families before developing an individualized approach for their care. The time I spend with my patients helps build trust and a stronger doctor-patient relationship. I want all of my patients to know that the care they receive from me would be the same I would want for members of my own family. If a patient is willing to trust me enough to operate on their brain or spine, they deserve that level of commitment.
Many neurosurgeons are well trained and have good skills, what sets Dr. Jethwa apart from the rest is being able to relate to patients and explain things on a human level.
Dr. Jethwa is board-certified in Neurosurgery with fellowship training in Vascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery. He grew up in Wayne, NJ and completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with Honors. He attended Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine. He then stayed on at Rutgers, completing his residency in Neurological Surgery in 2014. He went on to complete a fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at Capital Institute of Neurosciences in Trenton, NJ. In addition to his expertise in Vascular Neurosurgery, Dr. Jethwa has developed a comprehensive approach to Spine Surgery, utilizing novel, minimally invasive techniques to give patients better quality of life with less pain, less blood loss, and less time in the hospital. Dr. Jethwa has published numerous articles in prestigious medical journals, including Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, and Journal of Neuro Interventional Surgery. He has been an invited lecturer at many National and International Conferences and remains active in clinical and translational research in neurosurgery and stroke care.
